Horses grazing peacefully on the ranch at golden hour

Our Mission

Healing Goes Both Ways

Sometimes a horse needs someone to believe their story is not over. Sometimes a person does too.

About Wild Willow

Where Horses Find Second Chances and People Find Hope

Located in Rhome, Texas in Wise County, Wild Willow Redemption Ranch is a horse rescue dedicated to giving neglected, abused, and unwanted horses a second chance while creating meaningful opportunities for people to reconnect with themselves through the unique bond between horse and human.

We believe healing begins with relationship. Whether you're looking to adopt a horse, are seeking equine-assisted counseling, or want to support our work, our goal remains the same: to create a place where healing is built on trust, compassion, and authentic connection.

Our mission is to help horses and humans find healing, connection, and renewed purpose. Wild Willow Redemption Ranch rescues, rehabilitates, and responsibly rehomes horses in need while providing accessible, equine-assisted mental health services to our local rural community, including veterans and first responders. Through grants, donations, scholarships, and community partnerships, we work to keep the cost of mental health care affordable and reduce the financial barriers that can prevent individuals and families from getting the support they need. We believe both horses and humans deserve second chances—and that through safety, connection, compassionate care, and meaningful relationships, healing can begin. Help Horses. Heal Humans.

Our Mission Statement

"Our mission is to rescue and restore horses while providing accessible, affordable equine-assisted mental health services to our community. Through connection, compassionate care, and second chances, we help horses and humans find healing and renewed purpose."

Finding Purpose Together

Why Horses and Humans Belong in the Same Mission

Rescue is about more than survival.

1

For Horses

Healing may mean learning that people can be safe, receiving proper care, finding a new home, or discovering a meaningful role. Their past may be part of their story, but it does not have to determine their future.

2

For Humans

Healing may mean learning to trust, reconnecting with themselves, developing healthier relationships, processing difficult experiences, or discovering their story is still being written.

3

Together

Horses offer presence, honesty, relationship, and connection without judgment. That is what makes this work possible — and what makes it matter.

What We Stand For

Our Core Values

Compassion Without Condition

Every horse and every person who comes to us deserves dignity, patience, and care — regardless of their past or their circumstances.

The Horse's Welfare First

A horse never owes service to humans in exchange for being rescued. The horse's welfare always comes first and guides every decision we make.

Radical Accessibility

Your income should not determine whether you have access to healing. We are committed to removing financial barriers so that geography and income never determine who gets to heal.

Rooted in Community

We serve the rural and underserved communities around us — the ones most often left behind by traditional healthcare and social services.

Integrity in All Things

We operate with full transparency, ethical stewardship of donor resources, and accountability to the animals and people in our care.

Hope as Practice

We believe redemption is always possible. We show up every day — for the horses, for the clients, for the community — because we have seen what hope can do.

Be Part of Their Next Chapter
