Every Horse Deserves a Second Chance
Wild Willow Redemption Ranch assists horses through rescue, surrender, rehabilitation, sanctuary when appropriate, and responsible adoption. We work with horses who have experienced neglect, abandonment, injury, displacement, or hardship — and we believe every one of them deserves the opportunity to feel safe and begin again.
Every horse is an individual. Some may be rehabilitated and adopted into carefully selected homes. Others may need sanctuary. Some may eventually participate in educational, community, or equine-assisted programs when their health, temperament, training, and wellbeing make that appropriate.
A horse never owes service to humans in exchange for being rescued. The horse's welfare always comes first.
How We Help
Our Rescue Pathways
Rescue & Intake
We accept horses in need through rescue operations and owner surrenders, providing immediate safety, veterinary assessment, and compassionate care from day one.
Rehabilitation
Each horse receives individualized care — proper nutrition, veterinary and farrier attention, appropriate handling, and the time and space needed to heal physically and emotionally.
Adoption
When a horse is ready, we work to find carefully selected homes where they can thrive. Our adoption process is thorough, thoughtful, and centered on the horse's long-term wellbeing.
Sanctuary
Some horses need a permanent home rather than adoption. For those horses, Wild Willow provides sanctuary — a safe place to live out their lives with dignity and care.
Community Programs
When health, temperament, and training make it appropriate, some horses may participate in educational or equine-assisted programs — always on their own terms and never as an obligation.
Fostering
Fostering is one of the most vital parts of rescue — and one of the most beautiful ways to support our mission. When a horse comes into our care, having a trusted foster home can mean the difference between a horse receiving the time and space they need to heal, or a rescue being turned away. WWR fosters open their hearts, their land, and their time to horses in transition.

Adoption
Give a Horse Their Forever Home
At Wild Willow Redemption, our goal isn't just to find horses a home — it's to find them the right home. That's why our Foster & Adoption Program is built around a 3-month transition process designed to give both the horse and the potential adopter time to build a real relationship before an adoption is finalized.
How It Works
During the transition period, potential adopters participate in 12 guided equine education sessions — typically once a week — where they have the opportunity to really get to know their horse. We don't want anyone choosing a horse based on one visit, a picture, or a first impression. We want horse and human to have time to choose each other.
During those sessions, you'll learn:
- The horse's personality, history, needs, and quirks
- Safe handling and everyday care
- Communication and boundaries
- How to build trust and consistency
- What that individual horse will need from them long-term
Adoption fees include all 12 sessions and typically range from $1,000–$3,000, depending on the individual horse, training, rehabilitation, and care invested into them. Our goal is to create connection and confidence while reducing rushed or mismatched placements. Adoption fees also go right back into our rescue program, helping us rehabilitate and prepare the next horse who needs us.

Fill out our adoption interest form. Tell us about your experience, your property, and what you're looking for in a horse.
Meet & Connect
We'll schedule a time for you to come meet the horses and see if there's a connection. No pressure — just an honest conversation.
3-Month Transition
You and your horse spend 12 guided sessions together — learning, bonding, and building the foundation of a lasting partnership before adoption is finalized.
Adoption Agreement
All adoptions include a signed agreement to ensure the horse's continued wellbeing. We remain a resource for adopters after placement.

Some of our horses are exceptionally well-suited for therapeutic work — calm, attuned, and ready to serve alongside trained professionals. If your certified therapy barn or equine-assisted program is looking for a therapy horse placement, we would love to connect with you.

Life changes. Circumstances shift. And sometimes, despite how deeply you love your horse, keeping them is no longer possible. We understand — and we want you to know there is no judgment here.
Reaching out for help when you can no longer care for a horse is an act of love, not failure. It takes courage to put your horse's wellbeing above everything else, and we honor that.
Wild Willow Redemption Ranch accepts surrender inquiries on a case-by-case basis based on available space and resources. We ask that you complete the form below so we can learn more about your horse and your situation. Every inquiry is reviewed with care and compassion.
